Outstanding collection. Went with my 92 year old WWII veteran father and he was please with presentation and knowledge of staff.
This collection is absolutely unmatched. The significance and history behind many of the pieces is amazing. I am still dumbfounded by how the owner was able to get his hands on much of this throughout the years. This is by far the most interesting museum I've ever been to and the most interactive. Not sure of any other museum where you can hold an original MP44 without being a VIP. This museum is a must for any WWII or history buff.
This is an astonishingly good museum - already one of the most interesting places in the Boston area, but destined to be in the first rank of all American museums. This is so not only because the collection is both comprehensive and intelligent, but also because the subject matter is so compelling. The Museum of World War II is a case of making a truly great story of humanity overcoming the forces of darkness come to life in an indelible way.
I happened upon this small museum when visiting Massachusetts for other reasons. It is fabulous, a true find, amazing collectibles from The German Third Reich and from the battles we undertook to defeat the Nazis in Europe and the Japanese Fascists in Asia. I spent 2 hours there and my visit was not comprehensive. Many originals, lots of history compacted into its easily tour-able space. Plus, the day I was there, Saturday, there was a 95 year old WW II bomber pilot who survived 34 successful missions for us, as a speaker, and he was full of deliciously detailed stories, I felt proud just to be in his presence. He had joined the Army in 1942, with no prior experience piloting aircraft. Not only did he learn how to drive, he learned to do so quickly and skillfully in the most challenging and critical time of the war. How fabulous was he and so many of his brethren who achieved what they achieved magnificently for all of us. If you ever think about that period, this is a Museum you ought not miss. They're building a bigger one and when it's done, it will probably have a lot more stuff. That can be your second visit. See the original place now. DDC
